AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:
You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.
You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.
Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I wi ll probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.
Lou Pritchett

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it. Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over 500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. It's happening right now.

Owen Chad "Cracker" Johnson sworn in

The new interim Levy County Commissioner for District 1 was sworn in by Judge Smith this morning at the Levy County Commission meeting in Bronson, Florida.

We welcome another another Republican on the County Commission and look forward to seeing the republican ideals represented by a small but larger majority (2 of 3). Marcia Drew, our other Republican, was appointed as an interim commissioner a couple of months ago. We also hope to see Mr. Johnson at the Levy County Republican Executive Committee meetings and events in support of the Republicans in Levy County.

We wish Mr. Johnson the best of luck and hope he and the other commissioners will work hard toward working in the best interests of all Levy County residents and voters.

Rally Cancelled - LCREC fulfilled it's Mission

The rally for Saturday, August 8th has been cancelled. The Gubernatorial Appointments office confirmed for the LCREC on Wednesday, July 29, they chose Owen Chad "Cracker" Johnson.

We are disappointed that Abraham Blitch was not chosen. He had the support of 49% of the voting population in the 2008 elections and the full support of the Levy County Republican Executive Committee, just not the support of the Governor. We believe Levy County Republican Executive Committee has fulfilled their mission; our mission is "to educate all potential voters about the Republican Party platform through the promotion of honest men and women for local government positions, community activities, precinct organization, fundraising, and enhanced community relationships to encourage year round support and enthusiasm leveraging our combined expertise and the latest innovations in technology." We feel we did exactly what our mission has called us to do. We promoted and supported just such a candidate in Abraham Blitch.

We are happy Mr. Johnson chose the right party affiliation and has recently become a Republican; we will support our newly appointed Commissioner for District 1. We wish him only the best of luck. We have to believe the Governor has made the right decision and move forward. We have a budget that needs to be ironed out and Mr. Johnson is already behind where all the other commissioners are.

As the Chairman of the LCREC, I believe the best interests of Levy County would be to put our full support behind Mr. Johnson. Now that Mr. Johnson is Republican, we at the LCREC, look forward to his appearance at the Levy County Republican Meetings and events!

District 1 County Commission Seat is Decided

The Gubernatorial Appointments office confirmed for me today, they have made their decision on the District 1 County Commission Seat.

They have not made the press release yet, but I got the personal go ahead from Mike Yaworsky, the Director of Gubernatorial Appointments to let our people know. Our Candidate of choice Abraham Blitch was not selected. The Governor chose to appoint Owen Chad Johnson. Some refer to him as "Cracker". I do not personally know Mr. Johnson. I was concerned that a Republican Governor would appoint someone that was not a Republican. I assumed he was not a republican because he has not supported nor attended any Levy County Republican events in the past 5 or so years that would have met him.

I did confirm with the Supervisor of Elections office that he was a registered Democrat until June 22, 2009 when he changed his party affiliation to Republican.

Now that Mr. Johnson, is a Republican, and our newly appointed Commissioner for District 1, we wish him the best of luck. We have to believe the Governor has made the right decision and move forward. We have a budget that needs to be ironed out and Mr. Johnson is already behind where all the other commissioners are.

As the Chairman of the LCREC, I believe the best interests of Levy County would be to put our full support behind Mr. Johnson. We at the LCREC look forward to his appearance at the Levy County Republican Meetings and events!

LCREC Rally to Support Abraham Blitch

When: August 8th
Where: Levy County Courthouse steps
Time: 9:00 am

By a Unanimous vote at the LCREC on 7/27/09 will host a rally in support of Abraham Blitch! Come show your support for the only Republican candidate that qualified and won 49% of the vote in Levy County. Abraham Blitch previously qualified, spent the money and ran the race but lost by only a few votes. Had the indictment of Tony Parker come the day before the election instead of the day after, Abraham would already be in office. The Governor's office has yet to make an appointment for the Vacancy left in our Levy County Commission for the District 1 Commission seat. It has been nine months. Abraham Blitch is the man for the job, come out and show your support. We need your help! Sign the petition online or come to the courthouse on Saturday August 8th and sign the petition. We want to get at least 1000 signatures! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/levyrepublicans

Why 1000 signatures?...to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot it takes 8% of the general voter population in the last Presidential election and of that number 13 of 25 congressional districts must sign. That is 52% of the districts. The official results from the Levy County Supervisor of Elections shows of the 24,098 voters registered in 2008 only 9965 cards were cast or 41.35% of the population, 8% of that population would be 797 signatures (pg 4 of the Unofficial Voting Results for Levy County). http://www.votelevy.com/images/electionnight/PPP%20PRECINCT%20BY%20PRECINCT.pdf .

Levy County currently has 26,028 voters as of 7/27/09 and two federal congressional districts. 41.35% of the population of registered voters is 10758 and 8% of that would be 861 voters, but 1000 would send the message to Tallahassee that we know the candidate we want in the position of District 1 Commission Seat (we voted for him last election)!

Vietnam Veterans - info to apply for your HS Diploma

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS FOR VIETNAM WAR VETERANS
The 2009 Florida Legislature passed the Corporal Larry E. Smedley Vietnam Veterans High School Diploma Act. This act, effective July 1, 2009, authorizes the Commissioner of Education to award a high school diploma to honorably discharged Vietnam War veterans and increases the opportunity for some Florida veterans to receive a high school diploma. Senate Bill 316, Chapter 2009-37, Laws of Florida, provides for the award of a high school diploma to eligible Vietnam veterans. This legislation amends s. 1003.43, F. S.

To be eligible, veterans must meet the following criteria:
Must be a Florida resident
Inducted into military service before completing the necessary graduation requirements
Must have served in the Vietnam Era, February 28, 1961 through May 7, 1975, as established in s. 1.01(14)(f), F. S.
Received an honorable discharge

The Florida Departments of Education and Veterans’ Affairs will work together to assist veterans with the application process for their diplomas. After Emailing Mr. Ortiz, for Levy County Residents he let me know via email...
The quickest way to obtain a copy of the DD Form 214 is to request it online, via the web at: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/ At the very end of the process a signature verification form needs to be printed and faxed or mailed to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC), and they will process your request.

You must do this within the first 20 days of entering your request, or your request will be removed from the NPRC system.

The 2nd way is to have the Veterans visit Michael Engel, the Levy County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO), and Michael will assist them and complete a Standard Form 180, which is then mailed to NPRC.
Michael's address follows:

LEVY County Veteran Service Officer Michael Engel,
Veteran Service Officer Gordon Ayogte,
Assistant VSO Christine Hartter,

Positively Republican has caught the RNC eye...

Chris Widener reported on Facebook...
"Stay Positive, Stay Encouraged
From Positively Republican!
Hi Positively Republican Members! Chris Widener here. I just wanted to drop you a quick update about what we are doing and encourage you in the work we are doing together.First of all, we are at 108,000 members nationwide! This after only 8 months! We actually passed the official RNC Facebook group a couple weeks ago. Interestingly, I heard from Chairman Steele's office a few days after that and they wanted to know how they could help us. They are excited that there is a group of positive-minded people who want to help bring the party back to its roots and help get conservative Republicans elected. Chairman Steele will be in Seattle tomorrow and we will be meeting together. I view this as a good sign that the grass roots can get the attention of the party and they are aware of what is going on."

Secondly, our coffee company will be writing our first check to the College Republicans this week. I don't know how much yet, but will let you know in future updates. Be sure to order yours at http://www.PositivelyRepublicanCoffee.com - we have partnered with an award-winning coffee company, Dillanos (the CEO is a member of Positively Republican and a good friend of mine).Lastly, I want to encourage you. Stay positive and stay upbeat. The place we find ourselves in nationally didn't happen overnight and we won't change it overnight. We need to stay focused, keep our eye on the ball, organize, develop a strategy and execute. We have some important Governor's races this year that we all need to support. Governor's have a lot of power in their states to build the party and we need to help get conservative Republican Governors elected.
